Week 22

Hey Boys and Girls,

We are going to have so much fun this week. We will be reading Pushing Up the Sky by Joseph Bruchac; it is a play. This is our first real play of the year, and I am sure that you will be great. Each day we will read our parts silently and orally and possibly perform it as a Reader's Theater on Friday if time permits. To get your brains warmed up, I want you to think about the following question: "How do people explain nature in order to understand it?" I can't wait to hear your thoughts.

In addition to our main selection, Pushing Up the Sky, we will be practicing using the glossary, summarizing, and identifying the author's purpose. We will also learn a new Kagan structure; it is called Round Robin. Students, you will take turns responding orally within your teams.

It's going to be a great week!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Telford
