Week 16: Mahalia Jackson

Dear Parents and Students,
This week we are reading “Mahalia Jackson” by Julius Lester. We will focus on some vocabulary words in this story. It would be helpful if you will reinforce the meaning of these words at home with your child. Let’s have a great week!

Announcements:
1. (Mrs. Telford’s homeroom only) Please send $6.00 to school at your earliest convenience. It will be used to pay for the gingerbread houses that we will be decorating during our classroom Christmas party on Thursday afternoon.

2. G.V.E. Science Fair will be on Thursday, December 16th in the gym.

3. Friday, December 17th is a ½ day of school.

4. Christmas and New Year’s holidays are December 20th – December 31st.
